Business Computing is a degree designed to help you advance your career. You will be taught the fundamentals of business, like management, marketing and accounting. This will give you the ability and understanding to create and analyze computers that meet business’s needs.
You will learn about core computing concepts like data analysis and software development. You will also gain knowledge of business areas such as management, consulting and IT operations. You will also gain broader abilities that employers seek in IT professionals, such as leadership and teamwork.
We have strong ties with industry. You will be working on live briefs and have the chance to complete a placement year. You will be taught how modern businesses utilize IT, and you will have the chance to develop your own solutions to real-world problems.
Many who complete this course move into an occupation that requires an amalgamation of business and IT skills, such as software developer or project manager. Others may work for businesses such as banks and insurance companies, or start their own business using their IT and vocational skills. Some choose to work on the nebulous line between business and IT, in roles such as IT security officer or consultant.
